VARCITIES 8th Progress Meeting
The ISOCARP Institute recently participated in the 8th progress meeting of VARCITIES, held in Dundalk, Ireland. We joined representatives from the seven cities and 17 organizations that compose VARCITIES consortium to review the project’s progress and discuss the implementation of 29 innovative, nature-based, digital and social solutions across the 7 pilot sites. The meeting, which took place on September 4th and 5th, featured productive discussions on the co-implementation of Visionary Solutions in the pilot cities, with significant progress in the implementation of these solutions as most are are now fully operational, offering direct health and well-being benefits to users.
Together with our partners, we had the opportunity to explore Dundalk pilot site, the Courtyard of the Museum and Library Quart, which has been fully regenerated thanks to VARCITIES. The area now feature an outdoor learning pod, a sensory garden and bike stations.
Looking ahead, we anticipate continued collaboration for the last phase of the VARCITIES with the ramping up of co-evaluation and replication activities.
