Down to Earth's third Study Tour in the Neckar-Alb region

During the first week of June 2024, partners of Down to Earth gathered to participate in the project’s third study visit. This time, we were hosted by the Regional Association Neckar-Alb in the Neckar-Alb region, in Southern Germany.

The ISOCARP Institute took part in this three-day event, during which the consortium held the Management Committee meeting and also participated in several presentations, talks and site visits. We had the opportunity to listen to local authorities, entrepreneurs, farmers and business owners about their efforts and initiatives fostering regional development, with a focus on the topic of the project’s second year: access barriers to young farmers. Some of the main topics of the presentations and take-aways from the visits to good practice cases were: innovative agricultural practices, renewable energy projects, citizen envolvement in regional development and cooperation.
